Our Dedicated Server Options include Total Server Management, enhanced email and antispam, offserver backup, SQL Server, domain name registration, extra IP addresses, SSL certificates, automated failover, load balancing, SATA or SCSI hard disks, RAID disk configurations, control panels, hardware firewalls and server interconnection, as well as consultancy and software or script development. What's Included?Our Windows Dedicated Servers provide all of the following as standard, fully installed and configured:
When we turn over your server to you it is fully configured and ready to start serving web pages. We set up your first domain completely for you (including DNS, website, FTP, graphical stats and email). Most providers just do a very basic Windows installation, without even installing IIS, which leaves you with a huge amount of work to do! Of course we also provide friendly, efficient technical support by phone, a help desk ticket system, and email, with status updates on our customer support website. Dedicated server customers also receive a special emergency phone number so you can also contact us out of hours, thereby giving you 24x7 cover. ** For servers with RAID disk systems we very strongly recommend that our offserver backup option is used to provide backup for your server. RAID is not a substitute for backup. Server ManagementAll of the servers we provide are managed. The term "managed server" can mean something completely different depending on the provider! Here is what we do as part of our management service: Configure your server as described above, including your first domain. Regularly apply operating system security patches as needed. Regularly apply key application security patches as needed. Manage your backups. Monitor your server to ensure all key services are running smoothly. Fix any software or hardware problems that arise (other than to software which was not provided by us). Create a Server Health Report at least once per year and send it to you (if you choose our TDMWeb Total Server Management option we create these reports every three months). The aim is to give you an update on how the server is performing, perform necessary housekeeping tasks and highlight any issues that may require further attention. This removes a significant amount of the burden of server management from you. Your role is to use and manage the server day-to-day: adding new domains and managing your email accounts, for example. You get full Administrator/Root access to your server. If you need extra help, we are happy to provide it: this is exactly what TDMWeb Total Server Management is designed for!
Server Locations And DatacentresWe can provide a server in the datacentre which exactly suits your requirements. United Kingdom datacentres which are currently available include: VSNL, Stratford, East London; Telehouse East, London; Global Switch 2, London; Centro, Hemel Hempstead; Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne; Spectrum House, Maidenhead. Pricing depends on the datacentre used. If you would like a quote for a specific location and server specification please contact us and we'll be delighted to oblige. Important NotesVAT Tax. The prices shown above exclude VAT (European Union sales tax) which is currently chargeable at 17.5% on all services (no matter which country you are in). We accept VISA, MasterCard or American Express, as well as Sterling cheques drawn on a United Kingdom bank, made payable to iTec. Additional Costs: If you require additional consultancy or support work from us, our standard pricing is £ per hour. Specialist consultancy may be charged at a higher rate. Please ask us for a quote. If your dedicated server requires a re-setup, including an operating system reinstall, this costs from £ (if this is required out-of-hours please check with us for specific pricing); however, if you have our optional TDMWeb Total Server Management then re-setup is normally carried out at no extra charge. Prohibited Scripts And Applications: To protect the security and integrity of our customers' files and accounts, we maintain a list of scripts and applications that are prohibited from use on our web hosting and email hosting servers. This list can be found here. Please check that a script or application you wish to use is not included on this list before placing your order.
